Dear Sir / Madam,

I have just submitted my Form 11 for last year (2023). My account extracts (Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet) are truthful and accurate. You will notice, however, that I have not paid the full amount of my (nominal) income tax liability.

I won’t bore you with the detailed reasons for my non-payment. I discussed them briefly when I wrote to Revenue at the same time last year. You can read that letter - as well as related comments on taxation and Government spending - at https://cses.ie/p/tax-resistance .

I realize the personal consequences for my tax refusal may be extremely serious (e.g. fines, asset seizure, etc). But (at the risk of sounding 'melodramatic') I’m not sure I could live with myself if I simply bowed to the state’s demands at this time - not having become aware of the level of deceit that our Government is party to. The weaponisation of public health, of environmental policy, of immigration policy - and the corruption of science as it relates to the two former topics - is far more serious than whatever the personal consequences for me might be.

Every major policy that this Government promotes (whether related to 'health care', education, the environment, housing, or immigration) is counterfeit and dangerous. (One possible exception is road infrastructure, but Government spending on that over the last ten years is negligible relative to other programmes - and that is likely to decrease even further under the 'Green' party influence.)

If you feel confident that you can convince me otherwise, feel free to respond in writing.

Sincerely
David Collins
